How will you choose what upgrades to make? Why is this project necessary?

192nd Avenue is a busy area that many people use daily. On this section of the road, there are no center turn lanes, traffic medians, bike lanes or continuous sidewalks. This makes it challenging for many to travel on the road safely. We are working with the community to understand which problems are most important to address and make the road safer for all.

See The City's Transportation System Plan and Complete Streets Policy to learn more about safer roads.

What traffic impacts should we expect?

We will do everything possible to limit disturbing neighbors and minimize impacts to businesses while the road is under constructionanticipated to begin 2028. The project team is evaluating how different design options might affect the area residents, visitors and businesses. This report of the findings will be shared at the first community open house on June 18, 2025. Once a final design is chosen, the project team will share more specifics for how traffic might be impacted

I own a business or property in the project area. Will this project affect my business or property?

Creating roads and sidewalks that are safe and easy to use helps everyone. To reduce traffic on the road, the project team is exploring ways to improve the road so people can move easier and safer to get to their destinations. The project team will work with nearby businesses to make sure property and access impacts are minimal.

If you are a business or property owner in the area and would like to learn more about the project and share feedback, join the community open house on Wednesday, June 18 4 to 6 p.m. at Union High School.

I live along the project area. Will this project affect how I live, how I access my driveway or where I park?

We aim to improve how all people live. In addition to improving the road, this project is creating better paths for driving, walking, biking and rolling so everyone has a safe place to travel. This project is not currently looking to remove parking on 192nd Avenue. The project team will work with nearby residents to minimize impacts during construction and seek to balance safety and access for all community members.
