The Main Street Promise Project Advisory Group (PAG) will play an important role in ensuring that Main Street improvements reflect community needs for improved safety, accessibility, and connectivity. The PAG will serve as a forum for dialogue and information sharing between the community and the project team.

PAG members will also help to review materials, inform communication and advise the team throughout the design process. The project outcomes and design will be informed and influenced by feedback from the PAG.

Meeting recordings, presentations and materials will be available on this page, following each meeting. More information about advisory group members and upcoming meeting dates will be added soon.

The PAG includes community members who have a connection to Downtown Vancouver and Main Street. Members were selected by the Main Street Promise project team after an application and recruitment process.

Intentional efforts were made to ensure a diverse range of perspectives are represented, including those from project area residents, business and property owners, the Vancouver community-at-large, and visitors. To ensure a balanced range of stakeholder representation:

  • 80% of members will live or work in Downtown Vancouver
  • At least three members will be business or property owners in the project area
  • At least two members will be representatives of the general Vancouver community

Additionally, members were selected through an open process that included a mix of appointments (for members representing a specific partner or community organization), nominations and applications (for individual representatives). Organizations may include:

  • Small and independent businesses organizations
  • Business advocacy associations
  • Non-profits
  • Community based organizations (CBOs)
  • Tourism organizations
  • Civic / Professional / Economic Development / Workforce Development organizations
  • Neighborhood Associations
  1. Adam Hendrix, Union Chapel
  2. Cliff Myers, Visit Vancouver USA
  3. Dean Irvin, Property Owner
  4. Diana Kirkpatrick, Center Stage Clothiers
  5. Earl Frederick, Clark College Culinary Arts
  6. Elise Chelak, Pahlisch Commercial
  7. Holly J. Williams, Parks Commissioner
  8. Janet Kenefsky, Greater Vancouver Chamber
  9. Jill D. Stryker, Property Owner
  10. Karen Knauss, LSW Architects

  12. Marianne Wilson Stein, Dandelion Teahouse & Apothecary
  13. Meghan Arntson, Albina Fuel Holdings
  14. Michael Lary, Source Climbing Gym

The PAG will meet three to five times from January 2023 -- Fall 2023, over the course of the project’s Design Phase. The PAG will initially meet online, but may choose to meet in person as the design process progresses.

The first meeting: WED 1/25/23 (5:30pm - 7:30pm) virtual Teams meeting

The rest of the schedule will be determined with input from the group.
