Thank you to everyone who completed the Bagley Park design survey! Park planners are creating a proposed master plan for the park using your feedback to adjust and refine the designs that were presented. This new design will be ready to share with the community later this spring. Subscribe to this project to receive email updates about future meetings and surveys.

Project Overview

The City of Vancouver is exploring design improvements at Bagley Community Park, to open it up to new opportunities for community use. The City’s existing sports programs will be consolidated to other locations and the softball fields will no longer be required at Bagley Park. We are excited to collaborate with community members to reimagine the entire park to meet the needs of our growing city.

Bagley Park & Fourth Plain for All

In previous community conversations connected to the Fourth Plain for All project, neighbors said:

  • Parks and natural areas should provide safe, welcoming spaces for families and friends to play, exercise and celebrate together.
  • Investments in parks and natural areas are important.

The new Bagley Park master plan will create amenities and programs that improve the parks system in Vancouver and represent the culturally vibrant Fourth Plain community.

Bagley Community Park is a 16.19-acre community park in the Bagley Downs Neighborhood of central Vancouver and headwaters of Headache Creek. The site is relatively flat with a steeper section along the north edge fronting Nicholson Road. Wetlands associated with the headwaters of Headache Creek are in the northwest corner.

Bagley Park serves central Vancouver, including Bagley Downs, Fourth Plain Village, Meadow Homes and Maplewood neighborhood associations. The park borders Vancouver Public School’s Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary School; Jim Parsley Community Center; and the Bates Center for Educational Leadership.

Bagley Park was previously home to many of Vancouver’s recreational youth and adult sports leagues. Currently, the park design includes three softball fields, two soccer fields, playground, basketball court, restroom, picnic tables, benches, paths, landscaping and irrigation.

Bagley Community Park is ready to be shaped into a new gathering space that celebrates and enhances Vancouver’s Fourth Plain international district.
