Comment Period: Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)
Comment period open NOW through September 8, 2025.
Now's your chance to weigh in! The City is working together with community members (you!) to create Our Vancouver, an updated comprehensive plan that will guide the city’s growth and development over the next 20 years.
As part of this effort, two different maps(External link), called action alternatives, were created that represent the range of ways that Vancouver can grow and develop to help achieve our community vision, comply with state law, and address housing and other community needs. Input from community during community mapping activities in spring 2024, Council direction, and additional community feedback were used in creating these two maps.
Through the state-required environmental process(External link), the City published a report, called a Draft Environmental Impact Statement also known as a Draft EIS, on July 8 for the public to review and comment on. The Draft EIS looks at how the alternatives could affect our community and environment and is used to help consider potential impacts of the City of Vancouver's Comprehensive Plan Update before it is finalized and adopted.
Now is an important time to get involved! Review the alternatives and their potential impacts(External link) and tell us what you think(External link). The feedback you provide will shape the final map and plan for Vancouver’s growth and development.
