McLoughlin "Improvements

McLoughlin Blvd. is so user unfriendly that most people are trying to figure out some other ways to get home using alternative streets. I see way less traffic because I think everyone is frustrated by the uneven speed bumps. I guess it causes those few people to slow down because they are so afraid of them. I've followed people who slow down to about 12 mph going over them and the bumps are so close together. I usually drive down Mill Plain and turn on Grand just to avoid the lion's share of those ugly bumps.

30 year McLoughlin Resident and cyclist. Love the Reserve to Grand section, It's so much safer to ride. I wish they had kept the original plan for the Grand to Brandt section. Altough much safer, you still feel like you getting squeezed somtimes. It would also maintain continuity better. going West on McLoughlin, you go from parking lane, bike lane, car lane, to bike lane, buffer lane, car lane, to Sharrow lane. No wonder bikes can't firgue out where to ride. Thank you for a BIG inprovement overall!!

I love the speed bumps, the street is much quieter, I've  had other residents tell me that it "got rid of the racers". I had someone tell me they should be higher. Riding my bike, I feel my safer, when I drive I also take Mill Plain, that tells me the speed bumps are working.
