A Stronger Vancouver
Consultation has concluded
In May 2017, Vancouver City Council convened an Executive Sponsors Council (ESC) to work with the City and the community to develop recommendations for a range of projects and programs intended to keep our city thriving over the next decade.
After two years of work, the ESC developed a proposed initiative called A Stronger Vancouver. In 2019, the Completed several months of community engagement work for the Stronger Vancouver initiative, which included three open houses, tabling at local events and community centers, an online survey and focus groups.
Vancouver City Council is now working on finalizing the capital projects, programs and services package and potential funding mechanisms for A Stronger Vancouver. This work is expected to be complete in April 2020.

More career opportunities, not just jobs. We need to get away from being dependent on Oregon for career employment.
Perhaps we could offer incentives to attract such employers.

Transit Options!
Light rail and much more SAFE bike friendly options PLEASE. Why do we accept socializing the costs of driving cars (free roads, bridges, parking - gas taxes don't cover it) and not other transportation options? Living far from employment is a CHOICE. Of course it's complicated, and housing closer to employment centers is more expensive, but subsidizing driving makes it seem less expensive to individuals and society than it is.

Extend the Burnt Bridge Creek Trail on the east end to run along 18th ST to connect to the Lacamas Heritage Trail.

Community Gardens
When creating family-friendly parks consider sectioning a portion for community gardens. This encourages a sense of connection and can offer aid to those in need.

Add a bicycle pump track or several around town.
Give an opportunity for children (adults) to ride their bikes on a sanctioned dirt trail. These are common in many other communities across the country.
